Lovely secluded garden, luxurious rooms, and quaint traditional touches. , Templeton's restaurant is a gem.
Oh, what a shame that the pool wasn't filled with fruit juice!

Very welcoming and hospitable. Quiet relaxing place to wind down. Good selection of wines in their wine shop.
Dinner was well below expectations and expensive for the quality presented. Burnt pastry on 3 starters. Sirloin overcooked, dry and lacked taste. Mark up on Wine List prices considerable over their wine shop.

Stunning views of the surrounding landscape greeted us every morning, making us feel like we were waking up in a postcard-worthy painting. The sunset in the private secluded garden was truly a masterpiece.
Tiny bedroom.

Great atmosphere and super friendly service! Really had a good time and would go there anytime again. Special mention needs to be made about the breakfast! It was great! I had a no problem late arrival as well with pre-heated room on an extremely cold SA winter night.

our recent romantic trip to Montagu exceeded our expectations. Four Oaks Guest House was even better than our previous stay. The excellent food, helpful hosts, and newly renovated MonTQ restaurant made our trip unforgettable. Thank you Four Oaks!

Linda the owner gave us a very warm welcome. The food was exceptional, my sister and I still remember the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. The sideboard that was set up with an array of food for breakfast was so inviting and the cooked breakfast was perfect. The outside courtyard was a nice space to sit. I would highly recommend the Four Oaks.

Accommodation and service was excellent. Breakfast was very good
The evening meal although good was not up to the high standard set by the previous owner/chef. I would suggest that a simpler menu be used rather than a formal set couse dinner.

If you seek good value, tasty food and friendly service, this guesthouse may fit the bill. You can enjoy meals in different settings, from a fine dining restaurant to a vintage style one or the courtyard in the center. Despite some traffic noise, the rooms are generally clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast includes a good variety of options. Staff and management are polite and accommodating. A downside is that noise from other guests may be heard at times.

The meals were very good The staff very friendly
The room was very small, no shower, bed smaller than standard double, curtains had to be closed as people could see in room when passing - making it dark even with lights on, bathroom had big clear glass window and no privacy from outside, no hand towels or drinking glass in bathroom, no plug near mirror for drying hair - in room or bathroom, Certainly not a superior double room, Owner said too busy to come and chat as wanted to tell her my comments personally

This holiday season, I had a lovely stay somewhere charming and full of history. the room was equipped with almost everything I needed, including tea/coffeemakers and comfy beds. I also enjoyed the ideal location and exploring the town. the restaurant was exceptional, and the food was cooked with love, fresh ingredients and plenty of flavour.
the limited parking was inconvenient.
